Republic Biscuit Corporation (Rebisco) is one of the pioneers in the biscuit industry and a leader in the fast moving consumer goods industry in the Philippines. From a basic portfolio of biscuits such as the famous and pioneering Rebisco Cracker Sandwiches that generations of Filipinos have loved, Rebisco now carries a wide variety of snackfood ranging from nuts and seeds, cakes, wafer sticks, chips, curls, candies and gums. Gradually, it has positioned itself as a major player in the local snack food industry supported by an extensive distribution network, updated market research, constant technology upgrading and continuous product development. Rebisco started out as the England Biscuit Factory in 1963, a neighborhood bakeshop in old San Juan carrying a portfolio of biscuits baked according to what has become a Rebisco standard - "Great tasting snack food for everyone's delight". From that humble beginning, the company grew steadily and moved to a more spacious factory in Novaliches, Quezon City. In 1972, it acquired a new image and name becoming the Republic Biscuit Corporation that we know today The Rebsico name has also evolved into the creation of new partners over time. In 1989, it ventured out to dominate the nuts and seeds market, putting up JBC Food Corporation . It is the manufacturer of Happy Peanuts, Dingdong, Captain Sid, and Dragon Sid, a phenomenal hit in the market. Behind Rebisco's success are its other companies - Suncrest Foods Incorporated(makers of packaged cakes) established in 1995, Multirich Food Corporation(makers of wafers and cream pastes) established in 1999, Pinnacle Foods Incorporated(producer of chips and curls) established in 2000 and SPI Corporation(producer of candies and gums) acquired in 2003. Today, Rebisco works hard to achieve its vision of being the dominant snack food company in the Philippines by providing innovative and best value products within reach of consumers.
