Kawasaki invested in a local corporation that was operating a motorcycle business in 1974. Later, it became an affiliate of Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd. in 1996.
At present it manufactures motorcycles used for tricycles, which are unique to the Philippines, and small-sized motorcycles called "Solo," as well as mopeds. Motorcycles manufactured at KMPC are distributed in the Philippines and exported to Latin America and other locations.
Kawasaki produces some 7,000 motorcycle units every month in its 23,940 square meters plant in Bo. Cupang, Muntinlupa. Besides motorcycles, the plant also manufactures and exports components and power products as well as offer spare parts service and repair. Along with its regional offices in Cebu and Davao, the Kawasaki network services over 700 stores and dealers nationwide. When it started, Kawasaki built its reputation as the number one brand for heavy-duty tricycles in the Philippines. The product remains Kawasaki´s top seller.
